Exciting competition battles, concerts, creative meetings and master classes of world-famous accordionists and button accordionists from Russia and other countries. An opportunity to participate in a record-sized accordion orchestra!
About the Championship
In May, Tyumen will host a unique competition — the Open Russia accordion championship, which will bring together the best performers from Russia and other countries. The prize fund of the competition is more than 3 000 000 rubles (~30 000 euros). 17 categories in different genres for soloists, ensembles and orchestras of different ages from 5 years old. The competition gives a chance to talented Russian musicians to get into the Russian National Team, which defends the honor of the country at the most prestigious annual world competition among accordionists and bayanists — Coupe Mondiale. Also for all participants our competition is an opportunity to participate in a record-sized accordion orchestra. We will gather 400 accordionists and bayanists in one place to play together and get into the Guinness Book of Records

The winners of the Championship will receive cash prizes, valuable prizes and specially made memorable awards. The title of "Absolute Champion of the Open Russia accordion championship" will also be awarded as the Grand Prix of the competition. Participants who will be included in the Russian National Team will also receive organizational and financial support in the amount of 500,000 rubles per person for a trip to the Coupe Mondiale.
Conditions of participation
The competitive auditions will be in offline format only. We invite students of children's music schools, children's art schools and other institutions of musical and cultural education of children, students of institutions of secondary and higher professional education, children's and adult orchestras, professional performers and even amateurs from Russia and other countries to participate.

Participation in the Open Russia accordion championship 2025 is free for all contestants.

The main goals of our competition are to popularize the bayan, accordion and other instruments of the harmonica family, as well as to support talented youth and teachers. We are sincerely committed to these goals, so we want to give every bright musician a chance to prove themselves regardless of their financial capabilities.
Open Russia accordion championship 2024
In 2025, the competition will be held for the third time. More than 450 musicians from Russia and beyond took part in the Open Russia accordion championship in May 2024. Musicians came to Tyumen from more than 20 regions. But the geography of the competition extends far beyond the borders of our homeland. Guests from China, Turkey, Serbia, Sweden, Estonia, Kazakhstan and Belarus performed among the participants in the Championship. The competition was held in 17 solo, ensemble and orchestral categories for musicians of all ages and levels: from beginners to professionals.

The prize fund of the competition amounted to more than 2,000,000 rubles. Contestants competed for valuable cash prizes, the prestigious title of champion of Russia and the main prize of the competition - a place in the Russian team at the Coupe Mondiale 2024.

The strict jury consisted of 11 world champions, eminent professors and invited guests from different parts of Russia, Serbia, Italy, China, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The jury was headed by the President of CIA, Italian musician Mirko Patarini.

The 7 strongest accordionists and button accordionists who climbed the podium were included in the Russian national team, which will go to the Coupe Mondiale in Italy in September of this year to present Russia.

The Championship included 6 concerts. Аnd at the opening of the competition, for the first time in world history, 11 world champions in accordion and button accordion performed on the same stage at the same time. The performance was accompanied by the Tyumen Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yuriy Medyanik. More than 3 thousand spectators attended the concerts and competition auditions, more than 50,000 spectators watched the events on the broadcast.

The famous Russian music blogger Stradivaly also became a guest of the event, reports about the Championship were aired on the national TV channels. More than 50 Russian media also wrote about the event.

At the first Championship in April 2023, 74 participants from 22 regions of our country competed. The Russian National Team was comprised of 12 of the strongest competitors, winners of various categories of the Championship. The 2023 Russian National Team won 4 categories out of 7 possible at the Coupe Mondiale in Bosnia and Herzegovina, winning four golds and one bronze. Having returned home in triumph, the strongest participants of the National Team went on the "Champions Tour" across the country with the support of the Organizing Committee of the Open Russia accordion championship.
